Our Proud History

Since our establishment in 1975, Taumarunui Funeral Services has been an integral part of the Taumarunui community, providing unwavering support and compassionate care during times of loss. Owned and operated by Maureen & Pat Horton for 34 years, before Stephen McMahon took the helm in June 2023. Stephen has nearly 20 years experience in the industry and is a 4th Generation Funeral Director and Embalmer.

For decades, we have been honoured to serve families across the region, offering a legacy of respect, understanding, and professionalism.

Facilities

Within our premises, you’ll find a spacious onsite Chapel with seating for 120 individuals, complete with an additional overflow room. We provide a dedicated Viewing Room and a comfortable Waiting Room, ensuring a serene and private space for reflection. Our Mortuary and Casket Display Room are designed with care to honor your loved ones.

Additionally, we offer modern amenities such as slideshow and live stream capabilities, allowing you to share memories and moments with others. Our fleet of vehicles includes a Cadillac Superior Hearse, Kia and a Falcon Hearse, serving both ceremonial and transportation purposes.
