Passed away peacefully at home on Sunday 14 January 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Soulmate of Marie. Devoted Dad of Tania and Deon, and the late Wayne. Proud Gramps of Dannielle and Gareth, Aimee and Calum. Special family friend of Noreen and Brian. Mate of Gingernut. Respecting Ron’s wishes, his body has been gifted to Human Body Bequest Programme. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at St Pauls Presbyterian Church, 8 Marae Street Taumarunui, on Friday 19 January 2024 at 1pm. I remember Ron, along with his parents and sisters who lived on the farm next door in Owhango!!! We girls were always envious of Ron and his new bicycle which he would ride to the end of Otapouri Rd, park under the trees beside Rumbles boundary and hop on the bus to school! Bicycles were never on our radar!!
Ron was always distinguished as a gentleman….even at school. Always willing to help, always there for you. He had a great sense of humour and a ‘can do’ attitude. His devotion to family and community were second to none. He will be missed.
My sincere condolences to Marie and family, I know you will continue to live with the love he left for you.
