The most special sister-in-law any one could ever have. I will miss you terribley Dorothy, our many phone calls meant a lot to me, can’t believe I will never be able to ring you again, but I will keep your phone number in my contacts it’s very special. Hopefully I’ll meet up with you in a few years time. One thing Dorothy you won’t have to go through the shocking things that is going on in this world today. I’m pleased you are now at peace Dorothy, bless you.🌹♥️
Sad to hear of Dorothy’s passing.
When i ran away from Auckland and came to Uncle Roys ( Sharkey) farm, Dorothy was the one who came and picked me up and looked after me. The time I came to stay at ‘Uncle’ Fred’s farm Dorothy was the one who looked after me again at Taupo Rd until Fred remember to come pick me up.
Since moving to Taumarunui 9 years ago Dorothy has been a familiar face to me in the supermarket etc.
Rest well Dorothy.
Mary Sharkey
Dear Auntie Dorothy,
Such awful news to have received. Still a terrible shock. I know you were unwell and struggling for quite some time. I hope you are at peace, now.
Always a lovely Auntie. So many memories of visiting you and Gran and Uncle Les at Taupo Rd, and seeing you when we visited Uncle Fred’s farm.
Mum loved your last visit to Levin, a few years ago, where you sang a few wonderful old songs (as a duet) at local music events, to the great appreciation and applause of the audiences.
I remember talking with you about the dances you and other family members attended, at The Chateau, in the ‘50s…and how your favourite rock ‘n’ roll performer was Jerry Lee Lewis.
I will miss sending and receiving Christmas cards. I have your card from last Christmas and will keep it as a memento.
So much sadness to have learned what has happened to you.
You dedicated your life to caring for others. Surely there can be no nobler calling.
Now reunited with Uncle Graham, Gran and Granddad and all the family. “Safe in the arms of the Lord.”
With love from your niece, Gabrielle xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
